Hi Gregpory,
I wrote a bash script which uses imagemagick to set these:

changedpi.sh:
#!/bin/bash
for i in $*; do
        dpi=`identify -format '%x %y' $i`;
        if [ "$dpi" != "72 PixelsPerInch 72 PixelsPerInch" ]; then
                mogrify -density 72x72 $i;
        fi
done

so if you call:
./changedpi.sh *.tiff
it should set the dpi of all tiff files to 72 if it isn't already.
