Hi Kees, 

i haven't tried it for the moment and i think i'm too bad in C++ to do
it but according the cygwin package contributor's guide
(http://cygwin.com/setup.html) We can launch some dos batch files after
the installation.
So if we setup the server part, it can be possible to use the client
"as-it". We have to test it ( peraps , ask the setup maintainers ).
