They are not processes. They're threads. You seem to be using htop. It's been a while since I used it but if I recall correctly, if you press H (upper-case H), it'll switch to showing only processes. Or, its help page should tell you. About the other questions, it's hard to say without any info. There's some information about controlling memory usage in the docs: https://docs.gocd.org/current/installation/performance_tuning.html It does need some IO and CPU. It's not recommended to run in a VM without any tuning, for a reasonably sized instance. GoCD agents just execute processes. So, there shouldn't be any difference in the build time with and without GoCD. It might take some time for it to notice a change and assign an agent to it.
