<< For example I consider my father a saint, many of you do about your own
fathers/mothers, etc. Like millions of other people lived a quiet but holy
life and we hold them on the altar of our hearts without any fanfare. Mother
Theresa is a saint regardless of miracles and canonization. People hold her
on the altar of their hearts.

For those who view the world and life through spiritual eyes, everything is
a miracle, including the cure of an illness through the intervention of
medicine and medical professionals. That most of us get along with each other
is a miracle. Personally, that my doctor was able to successfully close a
hole in my heart with a simple device within a two hour procedure and that I
could go home the same day and resume my work the next day is a miracle of
the medicine. For this miracle I thank God and the scientists and the doctors
and all who contributed to this marvelous medical development. I stand in awe
of human scientific achievement and that is a miracle.

Scientists, doctors and human beings in general are God's agents of miracles
who continuosly perform "mirabile" acts - acts of awe and amazement. The
etymology of miracle is rooted in latin "mirabile". >>

Dear Basilio and All:

How wonderful that yours and Basilio Magno's "Sainthood Without Miracles"
came miraculously to my mailbox, back to back :-)

I have always maintained that there are many 'unsung' or undeclared saints,
some our departed loved ones, who've worked miracles for us, and to whom we
intercede when in need. Faith is for the believers.

But, I would like to qualify by adding "some" before 'scientists, doctors,
and human beings .. ....' for don't we all know that there are others who
have done more harm than good? This world is full of good and bad guys.
However, like Saul's conversion to Paul, nothing is impossible.

Best Wishes:
