According to a press release, she was speaking as the chief guest at the valedictory function of AIDS fortnight organised by the Goa State AIDS Control Society and S S Dempo College of Commerce and Economics at Kala Academy on Saturday. The theme of the fortnight was "Live and Let Live". Speaking further, Ms Ray urged all the people especially the youth to get themselves tested for HIV which is a simple procedure available at most government health centres. She advised girls to have the HIV test of self and the would be husband at the time of marriage. Prizes to the best performances during the AIDS fortnight were also given at the hands of the dignitaries. The Dean of Goa Medical College, Dr V G Dhume and the Director of Health Services, Dr Arvind Salelkar were present on the occasion.
