It has been a matter of pride for India (or a disgrace?) that an US based Indian orthopaedic surgeon gave his attention to our dear Prime Minister's knocking knee. This would probably be unnecessary if Vajpayee did'nt worship the all abounding source of 03 which is available in the green grass eating COW. Today, we Indians would have an upright walking Prime Minister to pride ourselves of, if it was otherwise. He has not only deprived himself of the precious 03 in his diet, he is risking the well being of millions of his countrymen by going the "holy cow" way instead of the "good governance" way, that is if the Indian cows consume green grass or city garbage. Moral: Do not worship what provident nature has provided for your body. I would like to invite qualified re-buffs, if any, from doctors of medicine and medicine researchers. At the same time, I could be totally wrong and must stand corrected. In that case, I apologize in advance. Thank you. Cheers Floriano Please read on: FOREVER ARCTIC SEA SUPER OMEGA - 3 One vital set of nutrients required for a healthy body are known collectively as fatty acids. These nutrients serve several functions. They make up the majority of the protective envelope, a membrane, that surrounds every one of our cells. They are also used by the body as major building blocks for the creation of body fat, needed in appropriate amounts to cushion and protect our internal organs and to keep us warm. However, not all fatty acids give the same benefits. Scientific research has linked the consumption of saturated fatty acids, found predominantly in animal fat, with increased levels of cholesterol in the blood and a higher risk of heart attacks, whilst the unsaturated variety found more in vegetable oils have the opposite effect. In particular, research and studies, conducted over the past 10 years, have established that Eskimos and Japanese fishermen have a far lower incidence of heart disease and other ailments including diabetes, high blood pressure, and many concerns common in Western Countries. What makes this so surprising is that Eskimos also enjoy a diet with the highest animal fat content found anywhere in the world. Further investigations led to the conclusion that certain nutrients found in fish oils play a unique role in reducing the cholesterol and triglyceride levels in the blood thus reducing the risk of heart attack. These nutrients are referred to as Omega 3, a group of polyunsaturated fatty acids. They are essential because the body cannot manufacture them and must therefore receive them from dietary sources. Two of the most important are called EPA (Eicosapentaeonic Acid) and DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) and they not only lower a person's risk of developing heart disease but lend some degree of protection by helping to keep arteries clear. Other research over the past 30 years has also established that the other unsaturated fatty acids, known together as Omega 9, are a preferable dietary substitute for saturated animal fats because of their cholesterol-lowering effect. These nutrients are typically found in vegetable products such as olive oil. In Mediterranean countries, where plenty of olive oil is eaten, once again, scientists find much lower rates of coronary heart disease and cancer. William Lands, a professor of biological chemistry of the University of Illinois at Chicago said "The best way to obtain the beneficial Omega 3 fatty acids is to eat more seafood. All the reasons for eating polyunsaturated oils from vegetables remain, certainly. But we need to balance them with Omega 3 oils from fish" Forever Living Products has formulated a superior nutritional supplement to take advantage of the latest research into this important area of nutrition. By combining Omega 3 with Omega 9, it provides a safe and balanced supplement which can favourably lower blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Forever Artic Sea Super Omega 3 is a breakthrough in terms of a balanced supplement using both vegetable and fish oils to derive the benefit of each. It provides a natural source of refined and concentrated cold water fish oils that are high in polyunsaturated fats. It provides a rich source of the Omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA plus Oleic Acid (from olive oil). During independent analysis, the EPA content was found to be 150 mg. per capsule, making supplementation with Arctic Sea capsules an excellent way to increase your polyunsaturated fat intake. Independent clinical studies by Drs. Scott Rigden and Jeffrey Bland on adults using Arctic Sea Super Omega 3 dramatically demonstrated the beneficial results of using the Arctic Sea Super Omega 3 formulation. The test results showed that regular use of Arctic Sea Super Omega 3 can favourably lower blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels and decrease the cholesterol-to-HDL ratio. However, the benefits of EPA and DHA are not limited to the circulatory system. Low levels of these two nutrients can cause other serious health problems. They are needed for other functions including the development and health of the eyes and brain. They can also help inflammatory diseases such as arthritis. A deficiency of these oils can also lead to eye disorders, muscle weakness, skin problems, tingling in the arms and legs and behavioral changes. INGREDIENTS: Each 1000 mg. Capsule contains 750 mg. of fish oil and 250 mg. of olive oil and provides 225 mg. EPA, 150 mg. DHA and 150 mg. Oleic Acid . Vitamin E is added as an antioxidant. The product contains no starch, preservatives or artificial colourings. Increases your overall health & energy Prevents heart disease, depression, Alzheimer's Threat of Rheumatoid Arthritis Diabetes, Ulcerative colitis Host of other diseases For good health increase intake of O-3 & reduce intake of O-6 Both are essential for human health in ration of Omega 6 to Omega 3 of 1:1 But our diets are such that there is a vast variance much as 20:1, even 50:1 This spells DANGER Primary source of Omega 6: Corn, soy, canola, safflower & sunflower oil. There are over abundant in our typical diet which explains our excess of Omega 6 levels. Avoid or limit THESE oils. Omega 3 is typically found in flaxseed oil, walnut oil & fish Best category of O3 are found in fish. O3 in fish is rich in 2 fatty acids cruxial to human health EHA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) & DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) which are pivotal in prevention of hearth disease, cancer & many other diseases Human brain is also highly dependant on DHA (Low DHA are linked to Depression, schizophrenia (a mental disease marked by a breakdown in the relation between thoughts, feelings, and actions, frequently accompanied by delusions and retreat from social life). Memory loss & high risk of developing Alzheimer's Premature birth or low birth weight in pregnant mothers & to Hyperactivity in children. ANSWER: Eat lot of fish but fish from ocean, lakes, streams or farm-raised is no longer recommended due to (why?) MERCURY levels being present which are dangerously high across the world RESULT: Risk of this fish far outweighs the fish's O3 benefits Routine consumption of fish oils is highly encouraged as it is a KEY ingredient in improving our health. Fish oil contains highest levels of 03 fats those of EPA & DHA fatty acids as it is in PURE form & does not pose the mercury risks of fresh fish Carlson brand of fish oil & COD LIVER oil Most recommended for purity & potency DEFICIENCY OF O3 CAUSES: Hyperactivity, learning difficulties/disorders & leads to many other conditions viz: Dyslexia (Slow learners) Violence, Depression, Weight gain Heart diseases, Cancer, Allergies, Eczema, Arthritis, Inflammatory diseases Memory Loss, thick patches of skin & Diabetes. Over 2000 scientific studies have demonstrated a wide range of problems associated with 03 deficiency. US diet is almost devoid of 03, except for certain types of fish. 60% of US citizens are deficient in 03 & 20% have so little of 03 , it is not detected in their blood. Human brain is more than 60% structural fat, just like our muscles are made of calcium. But it's just not any fat that our brain is made of. It has to be certain type of fats & we no longer eat these type of fats. WORSE, we eat man-made fats & excessive amounts of saturated fats & veg oils high in 06 fatty acids, all of which interfere with our body's attempts to utilize the tiny amounts of 03 fat that it gets. Deficiency of 03 also affects other parts of our body. A variety of skin problems such as eczema, cracked heels, etc. To get necessary 03 fatty acids, you must eat meat that is allowed to "free-range" or in the case of cattle to be grass fed. IMBALANCE OF 03: Dry skin, Dandruff, irregular urination, irritability, attention deficit & distraction, soft nails & allergies, alligator skin, Lowered immunity, fatigue, Dry unmanageable hair, Hyperactivity, brittle & easily frayed nails, excessive thirst, chicken skin on back of hands, Dry eyes, Poor wound healing, frequent infections, learning problems, patches of pale skin on cheeks, cracked skin on heels or fingertips. An adjustment in diet to one with oil & protein contents high in unsaturated fats brings the best results in children. Lack of 03 fatty acids in children means learning & memory problems. Green leafy vegetables, certain seeds & nuts & wild game are rich in 03 Cows & chicken & other animals have much higher levels of 03 when fed sp. On free range method because they eat lots of green leafy vegetables. On the other hand, if they are fed grain, their 03 level is crashed. Wild game is much healthier to eat & it is much leaner then farm raised animals ASTHMA: Heart's best friend, Lower chances of tumour development or breast cancer Cod liver oils & fish oils are not the same. Cod liver is extracted from cod liver & is an excellent source of vit A & D. Fish oils are extracted from tissues (flesh of fatty fish like salmon & herring & are good sources of EPA & DHA. Fish oils contain very little of Vit A & D but cod liver does contain EPA & DHA, but you would probably exceed the recommended daily intake of Vit A & D if you were to try to obtain therapeutic amounts of EPA & DHA from cod liver oil. In the next 5 - 10 years, most food would be formulated and marketed in a significantly different way in response to growing public pressure and the rising no of indices implicating TRANA-FATS (hydrogenated oils) or artificially produced . Hence FDA has announced a new rule that will require the Transfats content of foods but it will not become effective for a few years. IMP: Veg diets found to be v-high in O6 fatty acids.
