Andhra Pradesh sets up control room By Mohammed Shafeeq, Indo-Asian News Service Hyderabad, Mar 23 (IANS) The Andhra Pradesh government has set up a control room to provide information to the relatives of people employed in Kuwait and other Gulf countries about flights from the region. The control room will be based at the Hyderabad airport. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu ordered its creation as anxious relatives have been making inquiries about the flights and seeking other information since the outbreak of the U.S. war on Iraq four days ago. Many of the people from the state have not been able to contact their near and dear ones in Kuwait due to poor communications. The first batch of 77 people from Kuwait arrived in the city Friday and a second batch is expected to land on Monday. Naidu instructed the officials to be in touch with the Indian embassies in the Gulf countries to provide all assistance and guidance to those who want to return home. Officials said several families from Hyderabad and neighbouring districts were likely to return. Special flights are being operated to India from Kuwait for those who want to return. --Indo-Asian News Service _______________________________________________ Goanet mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.goanet.org/mailman/listinfo/goanet
