Mr. Simon D�Silva, President of G.O.A. extended a warm welcome to the people who were present followed by a brief introduction of G.O.A�s activities held in the past and announced their upcoming event MAY QUEEN BALL 2003 on 15th May 2003. Mr. John De Sa, Chairman of G.O.A. presented a detailed information about the procedures and requirements of applying for Portuguese Nationality and Passport. Mr. De Sa said that the applicant is not required to travel to Lisbon or Goa. Goan Overseas Association, Qatar has approached an agent in Goa to assist Goans from Qatar to obtain the necessary papers for a nominal fee. This agent does the entire procedure and once the file is ready they submit the documents directly to Conservatoria dos Registos Centrais in Lisboa, Portugal and follow up the case with the Registos Centrais till the process is completed which takes approximately one and half year.
