Would like to draw your attention to the fact that
the long distance training halt ONLY for TWO MINUTES at station in Goa other
than Margao. This is grossly insufficient time for people traveling with family
and baggage's to get in or get out safely. Secondly residents of North Goa cant
afford to alight at Margao and come all the way up to North Goa.
All trains in the Goa route MUST be made to HALT
for at least 5 (FIVE) minutes at 4 (FOUR) stations (north to south) and more
specially to include stations such as THIVIM and MARGAO.
Would just like to narrate a situation
Summer Special train - Ahmedabad Mangalore (913)
depart Ahmedabad every Friday at 06:50 hours and reaches Thivim at 02:00
the next day. The halt is for Just 2 minutes. My family is not the only
ones to get off the train. the compartment has many families. How does one
expect me to get my family (with Half sleepy kids) and the bags safely out
of the train. My destination is Mapusa.
Please don't expect me to get off the train at
Margao where it halts for 5 minutes around 03:00 hours. Imagine the plight of
traveling from Margao to Mapusa at that unearthly hour.
Secondly My return is equally interesting. Being
Goan I sure will need to carry all the provisions I need until the next visit. I
will be boarding the train (914) at Thivim at 24:22 hours of Saturday for
Ahmedabad. Is 2 minutes sufficient time enough to get into the train with all my
luggage??
This is a humble request and would appreciate your
action. We just cant treat these long distance trains like the passenger trains
of Mumbai.
