Quite a number of years ago we had in Fatorda,Goa the case of one (British
national) called Freddy Peats, who had a home full of children. He was
engaged in practising pedophily for a long period of time. Peats was sent to
prison after being found guilty, after due process of law.
Then, in 1998 there was a widely notorious case of Marc Doutroux, which
rocked Belgium, with far-reaching repercussions in Government
circles,involving high and mighty,personages.

It is now well-nigh four months that Portugal is plagued with the scourge of
pedophily. Not a day goes by, without the media unravelling new cases.
Center-stage is the highly respected "CASA PIA" orphanage-school in Lisbon,
which churrns out a good many young people, who later intergrate into the
charmed circle of power-wielders. Renowned TV presenter Carlos Cruz and ex
Ambassador Jorge Ritto are at present in the eye of the storm. With both
already languishing in jail and many more following them , the question that
my mind seeks an answer to is: has pedophily developped to a point, that it
has turned contagious ?
I think a debate on the subject would be fruitful in shedding light.

Think-tankers, get into action!
