First and foremost, it should be noted that
the alleged victim did not report the incident immediately.

How do you expect someone who is in trauma & not in a proper frame to mind to report what has happened immediately? The news tells us that the victim's mother made a police complaint after she came to know what happened to her daughter, but did the police take immediate action?

I ask as well why is the Government getting involved in the judicial
process, the C.M. has no right to put pressure on the Courts to convict the
youths if there is no evidence.
The C.M. should not pander to the crowd just to gain kudos. There are the
Courts and they should be allowed to do their job unhindered.

The C.M./Government had better get involved if they are interested in getting justice done. After all, they are a "government of the people, for the people & by the people" & just like us, they too belong to this State of Goa & are free to express their views & concerns. Besides, they are in a better & more influential position to get justice done, unlike us who can only discuss this issue & not actually involved & do something about it.

Also, political influence is used so often for other unfair purposes, so why should they not use it now for a worthwhile cause.

 Also the
Police should not bring the case to Court unless they have strong evidence
to bring to bear against the youth concerned.

Is there any way to check if a guy is a virgin (not had intercourse)? What evidence can they show? Secondly, why isn't the statement of these culprits taken & published? At least one of them may have confessed the truth if they were given a good flogging & to get the truth out of them.

And what evidence will be left on the victim's body on examination a few days after the incident has taken place? The clothes she was wearing during that unfortunate incident were perhaps already washed & she too surely isn't going to stay dirty without a wash & wait till the police investigate & get a team to examine her. But what does the report of the examination at the hospital where she was admitted in Mapusa have to say?

Could some one also tell me the difference between the alleged rape
committed by three Goan youth working for a cruise ship and in which the
G.O.A (U.K.) has gotten
involved with and the alleged rape committed in Goa? We are asked to support
the youth here in England and you are ready to string the youth up in Goa.

As Zelma De Souza has said in her posting & I fully agree to that, the culprits should be flogged by the police at the premises of the incident in front of the management, students/staff & then put behind bars. Regarding that incident you are trying to differentiate on the cruise ship, whoever has been supporting those Goan youth who committed the rape, deserve a flogging too for trying to stop justice being done to the victim.
