Mr. Manuel Nascimento de Abreu (1866-1946) He was a well-known advocate as well as an efficient journalist. Born in Abreu-vaddo, Saligao, Bardez, on 14-5-1866 and died on 16-1-1946. His parents were Jeronimo Caetano de Abreu and Carlota Coelho. Manuel was an eminent figure in the taluka of his birth and much sought lawyer. He played major part I all the movements which had this aim, ‘ the good of the nation’.
As a journalist he edited the weekly A Epoca. He also collaborated in Conviccao, Verdade and Liberal, the Journals of those times. Moreover he was the member of the various commissions of public service. He became the judge of the Mormugao Municipality, member of the General Junta of the Province, member of the Municipality of Bardez for some years and associate of the Council of the Government. As an author he published the following books – Umesbulho Violento fantastico ( A fantastic violent usurpation). Bastora: Tip. Rangel, 1925, in 8°, p. 33. - A questao Ozorim de Pernem.
