POETIC JUSTICE By JOHN ALLEMANG Chain, Chain, Chain The world is full of lonely cells, Where every chain and jail bar tells A story of man's evil ways Back in some far-off, far-worse days.
In Senegal, George Bush seems sad That his ancestors once went mad, And looted Africa of souls To cut costs on their cotton bolls. This place where men were turned to slaves Is what a politician craves -- Some harsh words for a long-gone crime Means black votes at election time. But why stop at this branch of hell? Go visit wise Mandela's cell, And share the trials the great man bore. Oh right, you can't -- he hates your war. These moral cleansings have their flaws. You have to pick and choose your cause. Deplore all wrongs and soon, you know, You'd have to tour Guantanamo.
