The G.O.A. Los Angeles Committee invites you to celebrate Goa Day on
Sunday, August 17th from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a Potluck Picnic at
the Veterans Park in Redondo Beach.

Goa Day is a day where Goans worldwide can join in solidarity to celebrate
being Goan. A day to be proud of our rich heritage, and a day to help
ensure the longevity of Goans' impact here in Los Angeles. Goa Day
commemorates the year 1992 - the year when the Indian Parliament finally,
and unanimously approved Konkani, our mother tongue, to be an official
language and more importantly, it paved the way to Goa's statehood. This
year on Goa Day, Goans worldwide will strive to preserve the rich culture
of Goa - the lifestyle, the music, the history, the language, the art, and
of course, the FOOD.

Come spend a day at the beach and share your memories/experiences/cultures
of Goa. Bring your favorite Goan dish, snacks/desserts to share; and
bring your own drinks. We'll provide tea and supply plates, forks,
spoons, napkins & punch.

Being at the beach, there may not be tables and benches, so please carry
your lawn & beach chairs or mats. For those of you who enjoy volleyball,
and other board games, come prepared to have some fun.
