Will you also be laying stress on one major item of contention, the wearing of helmets? The case of helmets has been discussed at length on this forum.
The boom in sales of vehicles in Goa has been so widespread that I think it will be virtually impossible to police errant drivers and riders. Last year, I was appalled to see a car overtaking ours and that car in turn being overtaken by another one! All this happening when cars and buses were coming in from the opposite direction! I think the Traffic Police cell will have to be as large as the regular Police force. And does Goa have the resources to do that?
A lot of self-discipline is required on the part of each and every driver/rider to make Goan roads safer. And of course, most cars on Indian roads are not safe at all. Imagine a Maruti in a head on crash with a Tata Sumo. Wonder when safety standards of the west, will be applied to cars made in India.
