It is false statements like this that lead to mobs, vigilantism - and blinding of undertrials in Bihar.
Till date there is no evidence (even remote or circumstantial) of the girl having been raped or sexually assaulted in any way at Art College. In fact the last court judgement made spoke about the 'possibility of ravishing' by TWO of the accused rather than 'rape' by SIX. Big difference here!
If someone young innocent boy you know was falsely accused, and castrated by a brainless mob, then you might not speak of such drastic action.
How come all the Human Rights Activists and the Women's Rights Activists are silent on the alleged Art College Rape issue now? If the boys were indeed guilty they would be baying for blood. Looks like everyone realizes that it was a non-event and are meekly keeping their distance.
I wonder who will demand justice for the innocent boys who spent time in prison, and whose names have been dragged through mud because of a false complaint? Who will demand that they be publicly exonerated of all charges? Who will insist that the false accusers be punished?
Who will bell the cat?
