Sub: Appointments of Shri Suresh V. Parulekar & Shri A. V. Palekar respectively as Chairman, & Managing Director of the Sewage & Infrastructure Development Corporation. Ref: GSRP/GOG/01/2003 Sir, I am to address this letter to you under instructions and on behalf of my client 'GOA SU-RAJ PARTY', also known as 'GOA GOOD GOVERNANCE PARTY', a political party registered under the Representation of People Act, 1951, having their office at Karekar Bldg. (2nd Floor), Opp. Goa Bank Ltd., Mapuca, Goa. 3. Take note of annexed copy of legal notice served on the Board of Directors of E.D.C. Ltd. bearing Reference No: GSRP/EDC/03/2003 dated 8.11.2003 the contents of which will disclose that Shri. Suresh V. Parulekar who has been appointed as Chairman, of the Sewage & Infrastructure Development Corporation, (a Government Company) is Director of two companies which are defaulters in repayment of loans to the E.D.C. Ltd. which is also a Government Company. 4. Take note also that Shri A. V. Palekar, as erstwhile Managing Director of E.D.C. Ltd., was directly responsible for disbursing a sum of Rs.92,00,000/- (rupees ninety two lakhs) to Alpha Impex Pvt. Ltd. of which the said Shri Suresh V. Parulekar is also the Director. The said Shri A. V. Palekar is now Managing Director of the Sewage & Infrastructure Development Corporation. 5. My client questions the legality and propriety of appointment of a known defaulter in repayment of loans to a Government Company (EDC Ltd.) as Chairman of another Government Company, viz. Sewage & Infrastructure Development Corporation. 6. My client also questions the legality and propriety of appointment of Shri A. V. Palekar as M.D. of Sewage & Infrastructure Development Corporation where he is forced to operate as subordinate to and in conjunction with Shri S. V. Parulekar who is Chairman.
