I really hope interested Goanetters read the above article, because Colaco has completely mischaracterized what it says. The article clearly states that science so far has shown only mixed results as far as the health effects of religion are concerned. The few reliable scientific studies that have been conducted over the past several years indicate that various religious practices have no effect, a few bad effects and only one good effect on human health. Indeed, there is a raging debate about the sanity of including prayer as complementary therapy in hospitals - a proposal that is being promoted by scientifically indifferent but politically and economically savvy hospital administrators who want to enjoy the benefits of tax credits and grants offered by the Government sponsored faith-based initiative.
