Cecil has a nice explanation of how the word Udok for
water came to be.

But one of the confusing things about Konkani or
Concanim (or whatever we choose to call this mae-bhas
language of ours) is that I hear the word UDIK used
for water instead of UDOK. Perhaps it is a regional
thing. If so Cecil-bab, spelled backwords it becomes
KIDU. Any explanation for that ?
