Hi,

I do not intend to challenge the knowledge and scholarship of Santosh but can't help mentioning that he sounds profoundly naive. How else does one interpret his statement "none of these (ayurvedic) practices have been scientifically validated as an effective treatment
against any disease"?

What he apparently means by "scientific validation" and "critical analysis" are US FDA certification. None of the points raised by Filomena makes any sense to him because he apparently shares the tunnel vision of his bosses in the US, for whom accomplishments from outside the Western world are just voodoo, or at best pseudo-science.

While lapping up the unpalatable (and potentially dangerous) concoctions dished out as "food supplements" by some US companies, who market them to Third World countries including India at exorbitant prices, does it occur to Santosh that there are many things in this whole wide world -- in the realm of science, health and medicine -- to which the Western "critical analysts" have no clue at all?

Cheers, RKN
