EU was formed to overcome many such hurdles. imagine all goans being driven back from elsewhere in world to Goa, how does it sustain itself and its population. Needs to be looked at a much more broader prospective, One-World. Goans should strive to become world leaders in purposefull thought and work, so that others do not get an opertinuity to bully. If there were say 1000 IAS / IPS / IFS / IRS Goans, was it possible for Centeral Govt. to ignore Goa/ have top line Beurocrats as non-goans. After formation of State (from UT) - Goa has acquired over 1000 Crores as debt by way of bonds which has mostly been used for paying salaries :-) This debt was never imagined when being a UT. In 15 years it has risen to this extent. RBI rating of goa is one of the lowest. PWD used to be rich with Centre contributing to its coffers. 220MW power goa alloted - uses 180 and sells remaining 40 at 5 times the price, a huge profit to Bombay (BEST / Tata). Hiways (Heart Line)- NH17 and NH4 are funded and maintained by center including bridges (Zuari and Mandovi). which covers most of Goa, hence is maintained well. With this being removed from PWD and placed with another body, PWD is now an impovrished bodey. CM did a wise job by bifurcating them to reduce c????ption. Buildings - have not been painted / maintained. ____________________ Goa as a self sustainable entity : 1) Natural Resources 2) Human Resources 3) Macro and Micro Economics (Food, Fuel, Clothing, Shelter - Local Availability or Produce v/s Consumption, etc, etc) US has a major force of outsiders to fuel its rapid techno/economic growth. If it were not for its policies of open non-racial policies it has, it may not have been such a force to reckon with. Let us rise collectively, rather than getting involved in political gimmicks - suitable only for politicians. Gist: Useless outsiders would'nt survive in Goa.
