It is really a joke that people elavate themselves to the title of professor when this is totally unwarranted in many institutions in Goa. Similarly, in Goa, dental surgeons give themselves the title of doctor, which if done in the UK, would probably lead to a prosecution for misleading patients, and for attempts to expropriate a recognised title due to those who are genuine medical practioners and those who have earned a doctorate like a PhD. However, is this terribly different to many a Goan American who sports the title of vice-president or senior vice-president when holding down a fairly mundane job? I know some of these!!
