In my opinion, there was no discrimination in Goan clubs in Tanzania after 1975. In Washington DC, the core members had to work hard to get other Goans to join. Here in Toronto, there are at least 5,000 Goan families. People will laugh at you if anyone brings up the topic of caste. > (Anyway, what's so terrible about the parents' > choosing? His mother wanted to make sure her son got a wife from within her class system. She desperately wanted a virgin for her son so when the mother was ready, she made him marry. The couple had an unhappy marriage and when the mother was ready, she ordered her son to get divorced. The son re-united with his ex-girlfriend who is now his mistress/concubine. The son still has plans to become the King of England. :-) > That's true. But I don't claim to be holier-than- > thou unlike my friends from Canada. I did not know I was coming accross in a "holier-than-thou" attitude.
