Whatever criticisms Aires Rodrigues and others may
have about Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, in my
opinion he has achieved a lot. Not as much as all of
us want or expect, but if recent past experience is
any indication, he has succeeded in many ways.

The previous several Governments were a revolving
door, with greedy politicians each seeking to be
Chief Minister. They were out-witted at their own
game and unceremoniously thrown out.

Now, at least we have some political stability. A few
roads hot-mixed ? That is progress. Would we rather
have the terribly pot holed nightmarish roads of the
past ? Sure all our roads have not been hot-mixed. I
would rather have half a loaf than none.

Grandstanding and grandiose schemes and ribbon-cutting
? That is how the political game is played by
politicians of every hue, saffron or not.
