Prof. Dennis Kurzon [ Department of English, Haifa University,

Israel 31905] a goanetter and goa-research-netter's *"Where East Meets West:
The Success of English in Goa and on the Konkan Coast*, has just been
published by Multilingual Matters of Clevedon, UK. His experience could
come handy to us as we are looking forward to make a Konklish contribution
to Oxford or Webster dictionary for globalized consumption.

Oliver Seixas' creative suggestions (conveyed by Cecil Pinto) for replacing
*diaspora* with a meaningful substitute to designate Goan *community for
dispersion* (*communitas ad dispersionem*),as the Jesuits define their
religious community that way, to convey that unlike other religious
communities it is essentially outward-oriented. Disporia, disporic, dispore,
disporially could earn the next *goenchem prize* as a land and sea-breaking
contribution to Goan centrifugal society and to its NRI economy, but Santosh
Helekar may need more than one candidate, and may not wish to be left out
with his own rationalist mind.
