It's hard to know how to reply and to whom to reply and what's going on in everyone's head. Therefore, I still recommend using the delete button for those who want to move on to other issues. All I can say is that saints just happen in all religions and non-religions - here we are talking about the formal canonization of saints by the Catholic Church. When I got interested in the truly wonderful life of Joseph Vaz and wanted him canonized, I honestly did not know what was involved in time, costs, consulting with others, interchanges on the topic etc. in order to get someone canonized. Now I know and think differently. A formal canonization is a matter of having the right connections in Rome, most often having the backing of a religious order or group, it takes I believe at least U.S. $2 million if not more, and many other factors to pull the whole thing off. Therefore, each person would have to decide for himself/herself whether this expensive process is worth it or not to have someone declared a "saint." Uncanonized saints happen, whether we want them or not. But we can decide whether we want to go through the bureaucratic channels to have a saint "canonized" which means being enrolled into the Catholic Calendar of Saints. Filomena
