Excerpts: Goa is both a former Portuguese enclave in India, and a rather trendy Budapest home-furnishings shop, selling all manner of exotic artifacts from the subcontinent and now has a successful restaurant as well. It is also brilliantly situated, Downtown where Andrssy t meets Bajcsy-Zsilinszky t and just a few minutes walk from the fleshpots of Liszt Ferenc tr, a perfect place to spend the rest of the evening after a Goanese dinner Booking a table at Goa is now near compulsory, as the city's young and beautiful flock there. Restful ambient and Asian music warbles gently in the background. The menu at Goa is a curious mix, an eclectic combination of offerings from Italy to Russia, and India to Indonesia. Times of India. Mario Miranda interviewed. Excerpts: Goa isn't what it used to be... It's gradually losing its Indo-Portuguese character, the Latin flavour. There isn't much to do, and not too many cinemas. People and places inspire me... I love visiting new places. I've returned from Cuba and Brazil , and found a great similarity with Goa . I took my book of Goan drawings, and the Cubans were surprised. They couldn't believe the guitar-paying culture was Indian too! ============================= Forwarded by Eddie Fernandes ########################################################################## # Send submissions for Goanet to [EMAIL PROTECTED] # # PLEASE remember to stay on-topic (related to Goa), and avoid top-posts # # More details on Goanet at http://joingoanet.shorturl.com/ # # Please keep your discussion/tone polite, to reflect respect to others # ##########################################################################
