The real question is whether these same students would not have scored at the 97th percentile if their parents had sent them to a good public school, and had the same level of commitment towards their child's education, but in aftershool hours. Apples can always be compared to oranges to get good numbers, but what good are those numbers? Learning from my own children's education, I could teach them nursery rhymes quite well, but could I teach them multivariate calculus or advanced Spanish? Certainly not as well as the "terrorists" (the current U.S. administration's term for teachers - courtesy Rod Paige, the secretary of Education)!
