  NORWEGIAN ORDERED TO SURRENDER PASSPORT

  The Judicial Magistrate First Class, Panaji, Shekhar
  V. Parab, yesterday 25th February ordered the accused Norwegian Citizen
  Mr. Ivar Fjeld, resident of Milroc Complex Ribandar to
  surrender his passport to the Court within seven days.

  Mr. Fjeld is facing charges under section 506 Part 2
  of the Indian Penal code after a Private Criminal
  Complaint filed by Mr. Feliciano De Sousa that the
  accused had threatened to take his life.

  The JMFC today pronounced his order on the application
  filed by complainant Mr. Feliciano De Sousa to impound
  the Norwegian's passport as the accused may abscond
  from the country to avoid trial.

  The JMFC has also directed the accused to seek prior
  permission of the Court as and when he wants to leave
  the country. The next hearing of the case will be on
  24th March.

  Adv. Yogesh Nadkarni represents the accused Mr. Ivar
  Fjeld while Adv. Aires Rodrigues is appearing for the
  Complainant Mr. Feliciano De Sousa.
