The residents in their memorandum alleged that the Border Roads Organisation who is constructing the road and the planners are unaware that Alto-Dabolim is an urban area and that there are two important roads linking with the highway.
The road to Dabolim railway station, is used by the people residing at Issorcim, Bogmalo and Kholant and the other road connecting Cortalim highway to Alto-Dabolim, which is a vital junction used by the people of North Goa and every one going to the airport.
The citizens at their meeting have also decided to go on a chain hunger strike/Rasta Roko, if the opening in the divider is not provided for the benefit of the residents in absence of a proper road.
The citizens also demanded that till good roads are provided, the government should restrict the speed limit on the said four lane highway. ------------------------------------------ The Navhind Times 28/2/04 page 5 ------------------------------------------
