There was an article by the ubiquitous (recently silent) writer, Cecil Pinto. In this article he had espoused the view that People from Salcette hardly ever marry people from Bardez and vice versa. People from Tiswadi (Ilhas) could go either way (not ac/dc) i.e. marry into either Bardez or Salcette and People from Saligao hardly look beyond their village for a partner in marriage. I think this is quite true as even in East Africa in the early years the Saligaonkars usually married their own. Purity of blood? Cheers, Gabe Menezes. ########################################################################## # Send submissions for Goanet to [EMAIL PROTECTED] # # PLEASE remember to stay on-topic (related to Goa), and avoid top-posts # # More details on Goanet at http://joingoanet.shorturl.com/ # # Please keep your discussion/tone polite, to reflect respect to others # ##########################################################################
