I think that every country in the world has some bias or the other. Ask the Chinese and Koreans about the Japanese and they will tell you how the Japanese behaved with them! In the same way, the Chinese have behaved with the Tibetans.
I don't understand as to how Mr. Collaco can assert that "India is more
racist than Japan"! The Japanese went and massacred the Chinese
ane the Koreans. India did no such thing. Yes, there is religious bias,
caste problems but India did not go and loot and plunder other countries!
The Japanese might have been shocked into submission by the 2 atomic
bombs in 1945, but are always known to consider themselves as superior
to other races. The Germans are similar. Hitler and the Nazis are still revered by some.
There is racism in the US, Europe and everywhere else. It is not something that
will go away easily and I think it is simply impossible to single out one country or people.
I have seen racism amongst White Americans, Indians, Chinese, African Americans, Russians,
just to name a few. At this time, there is a fair amount of anti-Muslim sentiment in the US.
White Supremacists, KKK and Neo-Nazis exist in the US and hate other races.
I don't expect religious bias or racism to ever go away from the face of this earth.

I am aware that they are somewhat racist, but then all asian countries are far more racist than western countries. India is more racist than Japan, Indians just despise Africans, for example.
But I maintain that Japan is the most civilised country in the world. When I was there I was treated like royalty, even by total strangers to me. One has to understand that Japan never had much exposure to the outside world, traditionally, it was a "closed" country until WW II. Until very recently, there were no foreigners living among the Japanese. All that is changing fast now. I do not think they have a caste system - that is unique to India. Japan has a rigidly hierarchical society, but one that is upwardly mobile, unlike the caste system.
