First time messager, long time reader:
A program on ABC (Australia), "Compass" a while back
discussed the religions of India.
The alters of a Syrian Orthodox (?) chapel/church was
shown and the angels, Christ etc were depicted with
caucasian features. A small corridor lead to behind
the alter where an original alter had figures
featuring dark skin, black hair etc.
The change was put down to European colonists
(missionaries?) deeming such depictions as heretical
or ungodly.
