Some options in Goa for Internet access (approximate figures):
BSNL - Rs 500-600 for 100 hrs Internet access. Plus phone charges.
Phone charges vary from Rs 25 per hour, daytime, to Rs 6
per hour approx 11 pm to 6 am. Free Internet usage at night
(only phone to be paid).
SIFY - DISHNET: Offer accounts a bit more costlier than BNSL.
Phone charges are in addition to the Internet charges.
New packages are also being launched, for unlimited
access. But this might make sense only for heavy users.
VSNL - Located at Verna Industrial Estate. You can get your
Internet account sanctioned without queue, without even
a visit (that was how I did it about a year back).
Just phone up, ask for user name, and send your cheque
in a couple of days time. To find their contacts go to
the last entry of the last exchange on the Goa Directory
(it's difficult to get a copy of this directory!).
VSNL comes under the Verna exchange.
