Having just returned back to Dubai from Goa, I had the frustrating experience of using internet in Vasco, Bogmalo and Panaji. In Bogmalo I paid Rs 40 per hour and could hardly get 15 minutes of real time because it was so slow that I could take a quick nap. In Panjim, a neat internet cafe had isdn and it was remarkably good. I paid Rs. 10 for 15 minutes as "guest" member. For regular members, I believe it is Rs. 25 per hour. In Vasco, the connection was little better than in Bogmalo. I paid Rs 20 per hour. In Vasco and Bogmalo, the line would suddenly go dead. Sometimes the electricity failed. At one place in Vasco, my complaint was met with mischievous smiles. I realized that complaining is a sin. In Goa, all this and much more is taken for granted. I hope that the broadband connection to be introduced in other parts of Goa would help in better service from the providers and also from those running these internet cafes or booths.
