GAG will hold a dharna on 7th April, 2004, opposite Custom House, Panjim, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to protest the way in which infrastructure projects for the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) are being rushed through in a haphazard and unplanned manner,.
The issues that will be highlighted at the dharna include: Non compliance of procedures, Wasteful expenditure, Denial of information, Lack of transparency and accountability and Lopsided priorities over basic amenities.
GAG also strongly condemns the Government's criminal insensitivity in axing three huge age old rain trees in the old GMC complex for the International Film Festival of India, today inspite of requests from various Organisations and tree lovers to protect them.
