TidBits - Jana Gana Mana - Zee Style. Getting ready to take on the day has its routine. And the last thing before getting dressed is the few minutes spent with the bathroom mirror, strimming the wild growth on your face, that is, if you are sporting one, a full, totally white one like me. And my daughter, who also, at the same time, gets ready for the days work routine needs the TV on Zee channel's music video to guide her through the sensitive dressing motions. And she being fully aware to get a big shout " V O L U M E " coming her way from my bedroom or whereever whenever the extra volume hits my sentive years. (I have not been known for the fight to control "Noise Pollution" for nothing).
But today, as I was in the process of trimming the jungle on my face, I heard the familiar, light, and pleasant sounding strains of melodious music, which otherwise I would mostly always ignore, hit my sensitive ears, that made me walk to the dining room, with the scisors in hand , to the TV set. It was Jana Gana Mana, our National Anthem on the TV screen. I also noticed my wife, leaving her tools in the kitchen, coming to the dining room, followed by my daughter herself, from her bedroom. All three of us, spell bounded, watched the snow gear clad Indian army jawans hoisting the Indian Tricolor in the white clad mountaneous terrain. AND the loveliest strains of the instrumental Jana Gana Mana that accompanied the video emoted us all to such an extent, for the first time in our lives, I think, since Independence, that automatically had me uttering "Very Nice", my wife saying "Jivak boreeemmmm dislem, and my daughter saying "Fabulous". And , for me, it has not ended with just "very nice" I have felt the patriotic emotions rising in me from the bottom of my being that I have never experienced ever before. With "thank you Zee" mutterings, it has made me come back to my den giving these fabulous emotions of Patriotism for my country raised by this single, well thought of, well planned TV advertisement on what I think is the "Indian Armed Forces Day" And, in the future, whenever I will hear the strains of Jana Gana Mana, however crudely coined up, the strains that I have heard today on the Zee TV will always come back to me to make me feel proud of my Nation, INDIA.
