It is known that he was a big "prazo" (latifundiary) holder in Tete, Mo�ambique, and left a testament recorded at Quelimane on 17 January 1829. He was highly connected to other important Goans in Mozambique, including Ant�nio Mariano da Cunha, who was governor of Quelimane.
