Dear Cybergaokars on GoaNet,
Friday Balcao the fortnightly discussion event to be held on 8th October will focus on Community Care Centre for HIV/AIDS in Goa.
Karl Pinto D'Souza of the Freedom Foundation, Guirim will lead the discussion at the Balcao and share their experiences of a Community Care Centre which has recently been started.
The Community Care Centre functions as a transitional place and caters to men, women and children irrespective of class, caste or creed. The Centre is specialized in the treatment of HIV/AIDS related illnesses and all medicines for all opportunistic infections are given free of cost.
The Community Care Centre provides shelter, medical advice and consultation, psychological support through counselling, occupational therapy besides Awareness and Education sessions for Institutions, Service Clubs, Panchayats, Municipal Councils and Companies.
Friday Balcao will be from 4pm to 6pm at the Goa Desc Resource Centre No.11 Liberty Apartments Feira Alta, Mapusa and is open to members of the public.
Those citizens who would like to receive the regular invitation to Friday Balcao and a one page synopsis of the fortnightly session can subscribe for the same by sending Rs.100/- to cover printing and mailing costs.
