Goa hosts go-karting semi-finals

PANAJI: The regional semi-finals of the fifth National Go-Karting
championships was organised at the country's only mini formulae-one racing
track in Panaji, the capital of the coastal state.

 The much awaited race leading to the senior class regional title was a
thriller pf 18 laps. Bombay-based Ameya Walavalkar emerged as the winner. He
will join other regional winners for the finals to be held in Indian capital
New Delhi in December.

Karun Chandok, famous formula racer who compered the show, said that there
is a need to organise such events to popularise motor sports in the country
