Dear Cecil bab, Thanks for your info on carrying Alchohol to Mumbai. Below is the info which you requested.... Cecil: > Thanks Eddie for that info, but for my survey I need figures in terms of > weight rather than numbers. What you in Salcete call eight sausages works > out to half a single sausage in Bardez. Please calculate the approximate > gross weight of 600 tiny Salcete sausages and get back to me. Eddie Around 3-4 kgs (average) Bardez sausages in oil (8-10 pkts of 400 gm each) Around 4-5 kgs (average) Salcete Sausages (dry and opened up) btw sausage size does not matter, but its the price and the weight which one can carry? Do they sell the bigger Bardez sausages for Re 1.50/-? > Cecil: >But Eddie from what you tell me it appears that Goans in the Gulf are >consuming almost the same, if not more, > sausages than Goans in Goa. In addition to which on their one month holiday > the practically live on a sausage diet. A very interesting situation. Eddie: I dont think all Gulf Goans consume more sausages than Goans in Goa cause they have other stuff too...even during the one month stay it maybe just the first few days and last days that we consume sausages otherwise most perfer xitt-koddi and fresh fish or pork... ...but I feel the Goans in Mumbai consume more sausages than the Goans in Goa, as they come in handy to cook for working members. Last dec I carried around 7 kgs, 2 kgs went for distribution the rest were for home consumption (lasting for 6-7 months). Inbetween if any friends or relos visit Goa, then we get thru them also.
