> Fr Velho Pereira quotes the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India statement > on the Church and the Communications Media, which says the media -- of which > telephoning and e-mailing are an important part -- are "gifts of God to > humanity". I wonder if Fr Velho Pereira practices what he preaches. I sent him an email twice (see email below) and received no reply. My emails were sent Sept 20 and Oct 5. In an effort to avoid conjecture & speculation I had written to him but recd. no reply or acknowledgement. Had I written about donating money or celebrating a European saint's feast I would have likely received a prompt reply. Regards, George Pinto To: Fr Olavo Velho Pereira c/o DIRECTOR OF DIOSECAN CENTRE FOR SOCIAL COMMUNICATIONS MEDIA I believe you are the best person to contact regarding information which might be helpful to the church faithful, especially our children in Goa. If you are not the right person, please let me know who I should contact or forward this email to that person and cc: me. A couple of questions below: 1. What is the status of the Church's investigation into this issue (Ribandar church issue)? 2. Has the investigation concluded? 3. What outreach is the Church doing to determine if other victims exist in Goa (I have heard they may be others in other parishes). 4. Is there an internal investigation in the Archdiocese to identify similar problems? 5. Has the Church instituted any mechanisms to prevent similar problems? 6. Has there been a study of similar cases in Goa? 7. Is this a very minor problem or part of a larger problem in Goa (I am thinking here of the USA situation which is extensive)? 8. Any other matters and issues which will clarify and help with a better understanding of the situation. Thank you in advance for a prompt reply. Regards, George Pinto
