It is possible that in the heat of rhetorical battle we express ourselves more vigorously than we intend to. My remarks were directed more at the opposition forces in general rather than specifically to Mr. Tariq although it might appear otherwise. I would be the first to extend an apology to Mr Tariq if he took offence. I have written separately to him explaining the rationale. But suffice it to say that this president has been villified enough by the lies of Michael Moore, Howard Dean, Terry McCauliffe etc.. without the need to pile on further. We have been attacked like never before and we have a right to defend ourselves even if we have to venture outside the country to do so and we have a right to expect support from Arab/Muslims also because we are fighting a common enemy. Mr. Kerry has been vacillating "wrong place/wrong time/wrong war" even though he voted in favor, then denied the funding, and then said he would make the same decision GWB did. This demonstrates a weakness of resolve and sends wrong signals to the enemy-- the country as a whole regardless of ethnicity should support the president especially when we are engaged. The president had authority to wage war before we undertook the mission. I trust this answers your query.

Your point is noted but as Marlon stated, what does this have to do with the
personal attack on Tariq?

Surveys have indicated that Arabs/Muslims in Michigan planned to vote for
Kerry. I wonder why? Where do the sympathies of these Arab/Muslims lie
if
they decided to vote for Kerry who seeks a "global test" before the U.S
decides to defend itself from Islamo-fascists? Has there been any
vigorous
condemnation by Arab/Muslim leaders of 9/11? And were the attackers of
9/11 Islamo-fascists? Reasonable people can draw their own concluisions..
It is odious of that gentleman to taunt that GWB should be president of
Afghanistan or Iraq after he has liberated 50 Million people of those
countries. My comments were in that context and had nothing to do with
being of the extreme right or the Republican agenda established by one of
our greatest presidents!
