(GT) GOVT EXPECTS RS.10 LAKH PER MONTH: Goa's first multiplex, built in record time at a cost of Rs.24.92 crore, "is owned by the State government. INOX will run it on a build and operate basis till the next film festival. Around 12-15 percent of the total revenues will go into the government's coffers and we expect a minimum of Rs.10 lakh per month," Mr Parrikar told journalists at a press conference on November 9. (H) INOX THEATRE OPENS ON SAT: The INOX multiplex will be thrown open to the pub lic from 13 November with the movies "Garfield", "Veer Zaara", "Aitraaz" and "Naach". Bookings will begin on 12 Nov and the multiplex box office can be contacted on 2420999. INOX is offering home deliveries within a limited area. The company is expected to begin SMS and Internet booking for tickets from 9 December. (GT) MAJOR CHANGES IN DELIMITATION DRAFT: Major changes are proposed in the new delimitation d raft of the Assembly constituencies particularly in Bardez, Salcete, Mormugao and Pernem even as suggestions and objection have been invited by the Delimitation Commission. Bardez will have one additional constituency named as Porvorim, taking the number of constituencies in the taluka to seven. Pernem will have only Mandrem and Pernem while Dhargalim doesn't exist. Jitendra Deshprabhu, who has been most vocal against the Parrikar government, however, cannot seek re-election for a third term from Pernem as it is reserved as Scheduled Caste constituency. Velim constituency represented by Water Resources Minister Filipe Neri Rodrigues (Independent) does not exist, instead a new constituency named Davorlim is proposed to be created and Loutulim is likely to be called Nuvem. Vaddem will be the new seat in addition to Mormugao, Cortalim and Vasco. (H) PROF DR WILLIAM MADTHA IS NO MORE: Prof Dr William Madtha, a great Konkani Scholar and retired professor & HOD of Linguistics, Karnataka University, Dharwad, expired on November 9 at 00.30 hrs at Muller Hospital, Mangalore. He had a fever and diagnosed with diabetes and blood pressure. He was admitted to Kankanady Fr. Mullers Hospital three days ago. He was a great linguist and was an eminent Mangalorean, who fought for the literature of Kannada script to be recognised. He is survived by wife Celine and two daughters Sheela (son-in-law Emmanuel Antony) and Leela. His funeral will be held in Dharwad. Currently, his family is in Mangalore preparing for his mortal remains to be taken to Dharwad for final rites.
