GL response: Does Goa have a nursing school? If yes, can someone do a write up on GoaNet of our own native nursing school? Thanks a lot, GL Frederick Noronha: Clearly, Goa is sleeping on its potential here. FN Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 13 (IANS) A US body has promised help to a school to be set up in Kerala to train nurses. The Philadelphia-based Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) gave the assurance to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy Friday. "Roots-Norka, an autonomous body of the state government, is making arrangements to set up a nursing training school," former NRK minister and chairman of Roots-Norka M.M. Hassan told IANS. A CGFNS delegation led by chief executive Barbara Nicholas called on Chandy and thanked him for the cooperation extended to them for conducting a CGFNS examination Thursday at Kochi after a year. "They have agreed that instead of holding one examination a year, from now these would be held every March, July, September and November at Kochi," a CGFNS official said. The other centres where the examinations would take place are New Delhi and Bangalore.
