In case it has escaped the attention of our Honourable Tourism Minister Matanhy Saldanha, it is now well into January, the clock is ticking on, the River Princess is still flaunting her dubious charms amidst the bikini clad tourists on the beautiful shores of Candolim, and the Tourism Minister is still glued to his chair.
However, I would like to propose a solution that should take care of the Minister's problems. The chamber that the present Tourism Minister inherited seems to be dogged with bad luck as his predecessor would testify. Therefore, I would like to suggest that the Honourable Tourism Minister shift his chambers to the exclusive premises of the River Princess Then, his respected IITian colleague, with a little co-operation from his counterpart the CM of Gujarat, may use a political tsunami to get the River Princess (and of course the Tourism Ministry set up) swept away from the Goan shores to the scrapyard of Alang, where it rightfully belongs. Most of all Matanhy Saldanha will prove to be a man of his word and will have kept his promise. Goa's loss will be Gujarat's gain. John Philip Pereira, Nagoa, Salcete, Goa
