Once again, Santosh Helekar, repeats the charges of environmental activists who make a living out of alarming people and thus acquiring research money on which they depend for their livelyhood. Anyone who has the nerve to suggest that their warnings are overblown, can expect violent verbal attacks, professionally and personally. This is what Mr. Helekar seeks to do on Goanet in the case of environmental expert Pat Michaels. Providing insults by his professional critics only serves to highlight Mr. Michael's credentials as an environmentalist and a researcher on the faculties of some major American universities. The "mainstream" environmentalists don't just disagree with Dr. Michaels, they want to crush him professionally as their comments show.
The environmental extremists can create computer models to cook the books and present doomsday scenarios to alarm people of the future. What they cannot overlook is the past and the fact that global warming and cooling is a cyclical phenomenon that predates the induatrial revolution, Old Mother Earth is far less fragile that the alarmists want to believe, and piddling in a pond the size of a soccer field is unlikely to change its chemical composition, just dirty the water some, which is about what happens with man made carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
