Is Reliance "Most corrupt" because of the carnival related events or because
of some corporate malpractice? The clipping appended by the right reverend
Dr.Samir Kelekar[ not some ordinary banana man ;-) ] seems to suggest that
the former is the case.

Living in Bangalore, Dr.Samir Kelekar perhaps has not realised that the main
sponsor of carnival this year is ING Vyasa Bank....and that saffron coloured
banners with the ING Vyasa Bank name and logo stretch along the Cornice Road
as far as the eye can see from the District Collector's office and Panaji
Police Station. Romta-mell, Sontryo, Ghoddea-modni,etc are part of the
CARNIVAL 05 planned by the BJP Government with Matanhy Saldanha as the
Tourism Minister. Inculturation is a word that the Catholic Church uses for
such things. Matanhy must have known it would draw support...or atleast
blunt opposition. The Carnival Committee chosen by the BJP will now perform
the task under a Congress dispensation. The show must go on for the sake of
dollars and rupees.

SYNOPSIS
In this 92 minute film we will see the phenomenon of
"Inculturation" - how Hindu rituals and symbols are intermingling
into the practice of Christianity in India.
The documentary also presents a short history of
Christianity since the arrival of the apostle St Thomas on Indian
shores in 52 AD.
An "Indian Rite Mass" more appealing to simple village folk, which incorporates their songs and dances, is
shown; Finally, we hear the views of some Indian priests on issues like celibacy, conversion,
freedom of the Human Will. They strongly believe that Christianity
has to adapt and change if necessary to the needs of people in the
context of culture and modern trends.
