Dear Goanet Members,

We have changed the delivery option on emails so that our members' email
addresses are kept confidential. As most of you have noticed emails now
display "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" rather than the sender's name in the FROM
field.

We made this change based on a suggestion from one of our members. We want to
protect your email addresses from spammers and to make it more difficult for
them to send you junk mail (spam). Spammers have achieved a high degree of
infiltration on the internet. Virtually every public domain is susceptible to
them.

I'm sure that the new option is undesirable from the standpoint of
personalizing the forum. Sifting through emails might become more time
consuming. However, this is a small price to pay for the security provided by
concealing your email address.

One way to help members sort through their emails is not to change the subject
of the thread to which you are replying. This ensures that messages in a
thread can be grouped together in the archive. Users, then, can simply browse
through and select the threads that interest them.

Given that members' email addresses are concealed, we're requesting that you
sign your emails with your full name and location. For example:

Christopher Mathias
Boston, USA

If you do not include your name, we may bounce your email back and ask that
you resubmit it with your name. Please note that Goanet Rules and Regulations
already require members to sign their emails with their names.

We value your feedback. Please send questions or comments to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Yours sincerely,

Herman Carneiro
