Goa Speaker issues breach of privilege notice Tuesday, 08 February , 2005, 21:34 Panaji: Goa Assembly Speaker Vishwas Satarkar on Tuesday issued notices to Officer on Special Duty to state Governor and Chief Minister Pratapsinh Rane on charges of breach of privilege and contempt of the House. "I have issued notices to Pratapsinh Rane and Sebastian Zumbi, OSD to the Governor, after I received separate complaints against the two by BJP MLAs Damodar Naik and Vijay Pai Khot stating that the two had committed breach of privilege and contempt of the House," Satarkar said. The Speakerïs actions came a day after Governor S C Jamir, who had dismissed the BJP-led government headed by Manohar Parrikar in Goa soon after it won a confidence vote in the assembly on February 2, accused him of "murdering" democracy. "Since Rane is a member of the House, I have given him a notice of eight days, that is till February 16, to give his written complaints to me,ï he said.
